TULSA, Okla (March 4, 2014) - The West Texas ASCS 305cid Region presented by MVT is expecting some big names on March 14 and 15. Offering a pair of $3,000 to win, $400 to start night's of racing, it's safe to say that the attention of many has been peaked.

The 305 Smackdown on Friday, March 14 at the El Paso Speedway Park will kick things off with the 305 Shootout at the Southern New Mexico Speedway on Saturday, March 15.

A two-day event in Las Cruces, N.M. in the past, the event originally offered $1,000 to win on Friday night and $5,000 to win on Saturday.

Still offering $6,000 to win for a weekend sweep, the switch to include the El Paso Speedway Park in El Paso, Texas mirrors what the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real will see when the National Tour visits in November.

Previous winners of the two-day New Mexico event will be on hand to defend their home turf. John Carney II, Lorne Wofford, and Wes Wofford have denied some of the biggest names in Sprint Car racing the big payday.

This year, the likes of Jason Johnson, Jeff Swindell, Johnny Herrera, and Danny Lasoski will be on hand in hopes to taking home the winner's check.

The El Paso Speedway Park is located 6.5 mile east of Loop 375 off Montana Ave. in El Paso, Texas. Events on Friday, March 14 are scheduled to begin at 6:30 P.M. (MT). A practice will be held on Thursday, March 13 beginning at 6:00 P.M.

The Southern New Mexico Speedway is located 11miles west of Las Cruces, N.M. off I-10, Exit 132 to the south frontage road. Races on Saturday, March 15 are scheduled to kick off at 6:30 P.M. (MT).

An entry fee for drivers is due both days if wanting to compete. Each day is $150.
